Spring is here! Bright green leaves, freshly mown grass...& lots of rain lol!

Today the heavens opened while I was teaching my buggy class in Lloyd Park. I'm truly inspired by not just these women pictured but all the clients I've been fortunate enough to meet over the last 7 years.

On a completely different note I was chatting with one of my class attendees about a week ago with regards to weak pelvic floor and how the whole core tends to be compromised with just one side of the 'cube' being weak. We had been trying for a few weeks with very little improvement. But what finally worked?

Nutrition! Ultimately it all boils down to the fact that if you're not giving your body the building blocks it needs, it's going to be extremely difficult for it to heal!

Inflammation in the body is necessary part of the healing process but having said that the body needs to move on to the 'rebuilding' stage. For this stage to be reached it is necessary for the body to receive enough oxygen, hydration and nutrients & eating lots of foods that will help to reduce inflammation within the body as well as giving the body what it needs to heal.

Think of including in your diet all of the following;

different coloured vegetables especially green & leafy vegetables.

Protein & Water.

Omega 3 (also found in salmon, flaxseed & chia seed).

Berries.

Extra virgin olive oil & coconut oil.

Turmeric, ginger, garlic, red onion.

This is just some of the foods which will help reduce inflammation and provide your body with much needed vitamins & minerals.

The top inflammatory food (if you can even call it that!) unfortunately for us with a sweet tooth, is sugar.

Closely followed by any white flour or processed foods.

Now rather than talk about what you shouldn't be eating it's best to try and concentrate on foods you should be eating and hopefully this will help to crowd out all the not so good for you foods.

So Our Parks are restarting the free Buggy Classes in Stratford although they have changed the time & place a little bit.

New class day & time is Friday at 11am by The Timber Lodge. I will carry on with the class at victory park but will not be taking any more bookings for the Thursday class.

I've got a lovely recipe for you here...picture isn't great but it contains non animal protein (so good for the veggies in our group) & good fats so this is really good healing food. Just try to use carrot sticks, celery etc rather than too much pitta bread!

It literally is just the following;

1 avocado

the juice of half a lemon

1 can of chickpeas

half a teaspoon of ground cumin

1 crushed garlic clove

big pinch of sea salt flakes or pink himalayan salt crystals

optional chopped chilli if you want an extra kick!

And just stick it in your food processor. It is really lovely, even if I say so myself!
